But make sure you arm you grapple arm at his head, be warned tho, it can be a little buggy, when i attacked the reaper behind the aurora, it moved deep into the safe shallows where my base was, so just be aware of whats around you. And make sure you kill it.

The Grappling arm cant pick up items, if your drilling a resource deposit it will auto collect and get stored in your Prawns inventory, loose items on the ground can be picked up with a standard arm (grabber) or by leaving the Prawn and collecting it your self.
It’s a drill arm...I’m not sure why you would assume that a drill arm would just pick up things. It has no kind of “grabby appendages”. You have the choice to switch out the arms. Having the items you drill magically appear in your storage is asking a bit too much.
