The big difference is the scaling, if you're going dex espada has A while rapier has B, so you'll get a bigger attack bonus. If you have 34 str, I would just go for the Ice Rapier or Regular rapier and bump STR to 40. Espada only has an E in strength and since STR scaling is stronger than DEX, the D scaling would work better for you.
