This has happened to me a couple of times now. I take some land from a ruler of a different faith - some of the holdings in that land are leased out to a Holy Order belonging to the previous ruler’s faith, not mine. I am unable to revoke the lease on the holdings, so I’m stuck with Muslim Holy Orders in my territory as a Catholic crusader.

Sep 30, 2020 · Holy orders never seem to request to lease new baronies. They do, but only once they reach a particular size (and I think they can ask any ruler of their faith, not just the founder). Generally speaking, the more they get used, the bigger they'll grow. they don't upgrade their holdings.
