If I remember correctly, blizzard changed "something" and now you can't have name-only nameplates while in a raid or dungeon. Since patch 7.2 or something like that. Yes, blizzard basically disabled custom friendly nameplates in dungeon and raid content. There were too many 'op' addons using friendly nameplates as anchors so they disabled them all.
