For hydraulic, you are right - tighten to 0 clearance as indicated by lifting the rocker up and down at the valve, until movement stops, then go another 1/4 to 1/2 turn. 1/2 turn is recommmnded for low perf and stock rebuilds. Wiggle the pushrod UP and DOWNwhile taking up slack in the adjustment. When the up/down slop is gone, you are at 0 lash.
