Early game battania is definitely a good pick (pun intended), but it loses some value as you level up and have a good horse/troop ratio. Sturgia gets their super heavy Shock Trooper and Veteran Infantry which are at the end of their line. Battania’s army features medium-to-heavy spear infantry with strong bows as ranged support. Their cavalry is weak, generally only suited to skirmish harassment or fending off enemy cavalry.But Battania is left to rely on its noble line (or other cultures) for one of the most basic army slots in the game with their archers. They want glass cannon it seems. Which is fine except for the issues with armor you already mentioned and how it affects the game. But they are also the "archer" faction, only with no archers.As a result NPCs start between -3 to +3 relation with you depending on their own traits. If you have realistic recruitment, you'll have no slot to recruit from NPCs with negative relationship.
