The Bonnet removed is a common problem. I've had by Bonnet and base replaced under warranty. Take your Bonnet off and make sure it is locked in right. As for the not detecting the cat, make sure it's not leaning up against a wall or furniture. Sometimes that will prevent it pushing down on the weight sensor. Move it out a little and hit reset.

My three was constantly having issues with the bonnet removed messages and needing to remove the bonnet to bend the tabs back. The three also had an issue after I upgraded to the connected version where it would only operate half of the time at night.
