The manual says to use low when riding under 7mph. I have ran up to 20mph in low for short distances. I dont really recommend it though. Our 800 tends to have a whine in the trans if I run 15mph or more for very far in low. So I run in high 95% of the time. my 2008 800 does around 62-63 but its really squirmy on gravel. Reply. Save. I just bought a 2014 rzr le 50" left over brand new about 2 months ago and it tops out at about 60mph@6200rpm. I am going to check if it has a spacer in the primary to see if I can get a little more out of it. I also have a 2013 ranger mid 800 and it tops out at 58mph@6500rpm. And clearly then you can’t shift and it’s ruins things. I’ve adjusted the TPS in range and I just can’t get it to idle. It’s and there’s no happy medium. No 1,800 RPM. It’s dying at 1,360 or sprinting at 2,900.

One thing that I know contributes to it, on mine anyway, is the clutch, especially when cold. Adding a Duraclutch helped but did not cure the problem completely. Although 80 miles-per-hour is considered a good rough estimate for the top speed of a Polaris RZR, different editions and model years will have different top speeds.
