After inspecting the pistol, we found that the recoil spring guide assembly had moved downward. This caused the base of the rod to wedge into the cutout in the takedown lever. After firing about 15, one round failed to fully open the slide and the slide became stuck in the frame about 1 cm short of fully opening. The spent case did not eject and was still being held in the slide.

Nov 16, 2017 · Hide Post. Two of my three P320 pistols (Gen 1 and Gen 2) had tight take down lever syndrome. My solution was to lightly scuff the circumference (removing some Nitron finish) with a 3M Scotchpad, then lube it. I did not permanently remove or change the O-ring for a smaller OD size. They worked smoothly after that. Step 3: Remove Fire Control Unit from Grip Module. Up until now, disassembling your SIG P320 has been pretty similar to other “Wonder Nines.”. This is where that changes. First, you’re going to need to remove the takedown lever from the grip module. To do that, pull it outwards while facing down.I had to deal with not one, but two—count ’em, two—such incidents today. If one removes the P320 takedown lever before removing the slide, the fire control unit comes along with the slide when it’s lifted up, and then they can’t be separated.If it's "out", you will need to try and grab the recoil spring and guide rod, and try to move it forward enough, to re-install the takedown lever. Exact same issue. 1st time I pushed the guide rod back just a little bit from the front of the gun and that got it unstuck and swung right into the 7:00 position where it came apart smoothly. 2nd time I just got a little more rough with it and it let loose and again went to the 7:00 position and came apart smoothly.

The mag is out and the slide is locked back but the damn takedown lever will not go to 6 o'clock position no matter how hard I force it. My thumb is bleeding at this point lol. Might not be the same, but for a while the 320s needed to push the barrel down or back slightly to allow the lever to drop. First time cleaning and reassembling, and I think I did two things wrong. The take down lever was in the 6 o’clock position and the guide rod was in the wrong orientation. When I pushed the slide back on, he takedown lever moved to the position you see here and the slide is essentially stuck and won’t continue backwards or forwards. Lol. Sigh.
