I did the Sketchy Pharm and Sketchy Micro Anki decks without watching the videos and I did just fine. Makes no difference with the retention at all, in my opinion. You can take the cards in the AnKing deck and turn the tags into decks if you really wanted, but ideally I'd recommend just using custom filtered decks. AnKing. Create a filtered deck using the tag for whichever video you watch. The Anking deck for Step 1 and 2 has everything with tags for all pertinent sketchy videos. The front has a screenshot of the symbol--or a few, if they're connected thematically--and the back gives the meaning of each symbol. I went through all of sketchy biochem (including the new B vitamin update), and still thought it was worth the effort to get a run through all of Pixorize Biochem. Pixorize covers the same content but utilizes far better memory hooks. Pixorize, sketchy micro, and sketchy pharm are at the same level IMO.
