There's been a lot of talk about money market funds like VUSXX since they are returning good yields right now, ~4.5% and state tax exempt. Most are invested in treasury bills. I'm trying to understand the risks, and with the current debt ceiling I'm wondering does anyone have any experience with funds like these during the last major debt crisis, like in 2011

I have a ton of cash sitting in VMFXX at 4.52% (and a CD) since rates are likely not finished going up.. VUSXX is good too especially if you are in a high income tax state. At this point, I lean toward more money market funds and HYSA vs a CD because of higher rates in the future and the liquidity component.
