Hacksaw Ridge screamed historical embellishment. I also thought the film was insanely preachy. I get that the film was about a religious man, but it's obviously extremely possible to make a film about a religious person and not make it a preachy film. I think the first five minutes of the battle are incredible, I prefer it to Saving Private Ryan, the pace, the noise, the craziness of it all (yes, including the guy using a human shield) were just brilliant.
