There are a few factory optioned S10s and Blazers out there that came with the 8.5 ring gear vs the typical 7.5 but they are rare enough that they are pretty pricey for a rear end that still needs work.

Based on personal experience with many V8 into S10 swaps, forget the Turbo and lowering it until you get the 350 in and driving. It's a lot less mind boggling if you don't open 3 cans of worms at the same time. If you are serious about turboing it eventually forget the old school 350 and go with an LS 5.3 or 6.0.
