The only thing that's really going to save you is the ricochete chance, and the super cheap green dick helmet is really all you need as a new player. The fancier helmets like the ULACH, Fast MT, etc have ever so slightly more protection (mostly just from scavs though) but cost magnitudes more in terms of price.

the only helmet that worth using is Ulach, I used EXFIL in previous wipes almost exlusively but it almost never helped, but this wipe I started use Ulach and 4 LVL ears cover is definitely a huge thing. My favourite helmet is the green shemagh. Ulach is just a Ratnik but now all low end player rounds can also just be saved on the helmet rather then just it’s ricochet. Even M80 frequently because it goes below 40 with any distance. But it’s going to usually be taken. It is a marked upgrade though.
