Yes if you swap you'll need to change out the manifold they arent compatable. Personally I'd stick with the Holley TBI, that set-up is usually pretty good and trouble free.

Pay real close attention to the geometry of the linkage and get the proper brackets and make sure you have the right cable and that it is adjusted correctly. you need to either get a lower pressure in tank pump, a regulator to knock the pressure down to 6 psi, or get rid of the in tank pump and run a mechanical pump. then you need to get an older HEI distributor. this will render the computer irrelevant, so all that wiring can then be taken out- which really opens up the engine bay.Step 2: Remove the TBI system.
