Aug 15, 2021 · Looking for something near the sea with cooler, cleaner air I found this hike on the WTA hike finder map and off we went. We arrived just after 9:30 with the marine layer (making a change from smoke), still obscuring views to a lot surprisingly nearly full. If you read the directions they are now out of date. This is a fine hike on a well maintained, albeit busy trail through the forest with views of the Cedar River watershed, Mount Si, Mount Washington, Rattlesnake Lake and Chester Morse Lake.
